The trail continues as we past through the flat ground, and forested areas. Then the view changes as we rise out of the forest into a land of granite.

We explore a small section of the old emigrant trail at Harmony Ridge, upcountry from Nevada City on the way to the fabled Yuba Gap, and then Donner Summit. This Nevada City Trail was an offshoot that pioneers could take at Bear Valley.
